Alex Webb

Alex Webb s-a născut în San Francisco, California, în 1952. A studiat istoria și literatura la facultate și fotografia la Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts. În 1972, a participat la Apeiron Workshop, iar doi ani mai târziu a devenit fotograf profesionist. A început rapid să publice fotografii în ziare și reviste importante, inclusiv "The New York Times Magazine," "Life," "Geo," "Stern" și "National Geographic." În 1974, a colaborat cu Magnum Photos, devenind membru activ în 1979. A publicat mai multe cărți, inclusiv "Hot Light/Half Made Worlds" (1986), "Under a Grudging Sun: Photographs from Haiti Libere" (1989), "Fotografias: From the Tropics" (1989), "From the Sunshine State: Photographs of Florida" (1996), "Amazon: From the Floodplains to the Clouds" (1997), "Dislocations" (1998-1999) și "Crossings: Photographs from the U.S.-Mexico Border" (2003). Lucrările sale au fost expuse în muzee precum Walker Art Center, Museum of Photographic Arts, International Center of Photography [George Eastman House], High Museum of Art, The Southeast Museum of Photography și Whitney Museum of American Art.
